The National Portrait Gallery
The National Portrait Gallery offers many resources for teachers regarding Arts Integration, Field Trips, and Professional Development opportunities. They also offer online programs to look at objects in the collection that have been 3D scanned and are featured as one of the many museums on Google Art Project. The National Portrait Gallery also has a list of 'Learning to Look Strategies' for ways to look at art that can be adapted for use of any image. Click here to be linked to their education home page. The Walters Art Museum
The Walters Art Museum offers a plethora of lessons and online activities for teachers interested in Arts Integration. They have the ability to store tagged images of their entire collection along with lesson and unit walkthroughs that connect to Maryland literacy, math, science, and social studies standards. AACPS is leading the way in Arts Integration! Pat Klos is the Arts Integration Teaching Specialist for AACPS and has worked very hard to collect resources for all teachers. AACPS teachers can access the Arts Integration site through Blackboard where lessons, units, thinking strategies, instructors, PD opportunities are all displayed. There is also a general Arts Integration website for AACPS as well. AACPS is a big supporter of Project Zero's Visual Thinking Strategies which can also be accessed through Blackboard.
